The 2025 U.S. Open is officially upon us, and no one is celebrating the return to Arthur Ashe Stadium more than the tournament’s reigning champion, Aryna Sabalenka. A year after she took home the top trophy, the 27-year-old Belarus-born player—who’s currently ranked No. 1 in the world—is back in New York City to take to the court. But before her first match in Flushing Meadows, she had important business to attend to in Manhattan on Tuesday night: hosting a pre-Open party at The St. Regis Hotel, which she documented in an exclusive photo diary for L’OFFICIEL.
To celebrate her new “Drinks On Us” campaign with Dobel Tequila, Sabalenka welcomed guests for a night filled with conversation, connection, and, of course, cocktails. She raised a glass (a Marg-Aryna, naturally) to toast the crowd in between signing autographs and getting into a serious Wii Tennis match with Italian pro Lorenzo Musetti. To match the evening’s elegant-meets-casual vibe, she paired a crocheted Celine tank top with Loewe paper bag jeans, Toteme sandals, custom jewelry by Material Good, and an Audemars Piguet watch (hers is a Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph, in case you were wondering).
“Tennis is where I show my power, but fashion lets me show my personality,” she tells L’OFFICIEL. “I love exploring different styles off the court and expressing myself with some of my favorite brands like Audemars Piguet, Nike, Material Good, and so many more.” Although she did sport Material Good’s classic Ferra diamond tennis bracelet—really, how could she not?—for Tuesday’s event, Sabalenka wore a custom suite of handcrafted 18K yellow gold jewelry from the brand, each of which packed a subtle yet meaningful nod to symbolize her eighth U.S. Open. Her choker necklace featured eight pear-cut stones (seven white diamonds, one imperial topaz); her peach-pink tourmaline necklace was set with eight ultra-fine diamond-adorned claw prongs; and her stud earrings featured eight white diamonds each, when worn with their detachable drop jackets.
Sabalenka will continue to wear the Material Good jewels—and a selection of others from the brand—throughout the tournament. But before she dazzles us all on the court, check out her pre-Grand Slam festivities in her photo diary, below.
