Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham are once again at the forefront of our minds. The singers, who fronted the iconic 1970s band Fleetwood Mac, have seemingly reopened the door to their decades long will they won’t they, this time through coordinated Instagram posts to their separate feeds.
The posts come just one day after the formerly married couple refollowed each other on the social media platform, once again reuniting public interest in the pair’s relationship and what it could mean for a possible Fleetwood Mac reunion.
Nicks shared a white background with the words „And if you go forward…“ written in a thick black script font and no caption, while Buckingham shared a similar image with a thinner black script and the words „I’ll meet you there“ and no caption accompanying it.
Both posts have racked up hundreds of thousands of likes and sparked an online conversation discussing a possible reunion and the pair’s former flame.
In addition to Nicks and Buckingham’s cryptic Instagram activity, Mick Fleetwood, another member of the band, took to his own Instagram, uploading a shared post with the Fleetwood Mac official account–a video of himself listening to „Frozen Love“ by Buckingham Nicks. Both artists liked the video, and Buckingham reposted it to his Instagram story, though Fleetwood has yet to follow Buckingham back on the platform. This all comes just six days after Christine McVie’s birthday, the fourth member of Fleetwood Mac who passed away in November 2022.
While no one is entirely sure what tricks Fleetwood Mac has up their sleeve just yet, it is sure to get people talking. See some of the band’s most talked about moments below.
Fleetwood Mac’s Most Memorable Moments
That „Silver Springs“ Performance
Live from Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California in May 1997, the band reunited to perform. This performance, a heated, tension-filled display, sees Nicks belt the emotional ballad directly to Buckingham–an iconic performance still loved by the masses.
„The Chain“ 1982 Performance
Yet another tension-filled display, Buckingham and Nicks are practically screaming at one another in this live performance in Los Angeles from the Mirage tour in 1982.
The Affairs
Fleetwood Mac is rife with affairs. Most of the band’s music is inspired by the relationships the performers had with one another. From Buckingham and Nicks‘ tumultuous marriage and later torrid love affair to McVie’s affair with the band’s lighting technician, Curry Grant, to Nicks and Fleetwood’s whirlwind romance during the making of Rumours, drama seemed to follow the band through it all.
Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham Affair
The most notorious relationship to come out of Fleetwood Mac is that of Nicks and Buckingham. Their marriage, divorce, and later affair would inspire many of the band’s most loved songs, and would be a topic of discussion spanning the turn of a century.
The Reunions
From the 1997 reunion and subsequent album The Dance to the 2014 reunion tour with McVie rejoining the band, multiple reunions have occurred with the band. Following McVie’s passing in 2022, Nicks said that the band will not tour without her, signaling the end of an era for the band.
