There’s something about Jake Shane that makes you feel like you’ve known him forever. Maybe it’s the way he says exactly what everyone else is thinking, or maybe it’s the fact that, even while getting ready for the Calvin Klein show in New York, he still seems slightly in awe of it all. This marked Shane’s very first runway show for the brand, and when we asked his favorite part of the getting-ready process, his answer didn’t miss a beat: “I feel famous.”
Not long ago, Shane was posting videos to TikTok, building a loyal audience drawn to his quick humor and unfiltered personality. Now, he’s stepping into an entirely new chapter, with his Broadway debut in All Out on the horizon and a role in the upcoming comedy Wishful Thinking. For Shane, it’s less of a pivot and more of a plan coming to life. “Acting was always part of the plan,” he shared. “It’s my dream.”
His podcast, Therapuss, has become a cultural mainstay in its own right, featuring guests like Selena Gomez, Madelyn Cline, and Role Model. If you’ve ever seen an episode, you know Shane has a way of making even the biggest names feel like they’re just hanging out in his room. When asked if he has a favorite, his answer came easy: “Always the Role Model episode“ (ours is too).
Of course, with New York Fashion Week in full swing, we had to know if his signature humor had found anything wrong with it all. Surprisingly, it hadn’t. “For once, I can say there’s nothing wrong,” he said. “I’m just grateful to be invited.” From TikTok videos to front rows at Calvin Klein, Shane is proving that sometimes, being entirely yourself is what gets you there in the first place. And if you ask him, he’s still that same person—just maybe feeling a little more famous.
L’OFFICIEL: One of the signature segments on your podcast is “Tell Me What’s Wrongs.” Tell us what’s wrong with NYFW right now?
JAKE SHANE: For once, I can say there’s nothing wrong! I’m just grateful to be invited.
L’O: What’s your favorite part of getting ready to attend runway shows?
JS: I feel famous.
L’O: Is this your first Calvin Klein show? Would you say that your style fits into the style codes of the brand?
JS: Yes, this is my first Calvin Klein show. When I was in the fitting, I felt like I fit into the style immediately. I felt super comfortable in the clothes, and I felt sexy and confident.
L’O: If you could sit next to literally anyone at a fashion show, who would it be?
JS: Anna Wintour because it’s Anna Wintour.
L’O: Is there a piece of media right now — a show, movie, or song — that you have on repeat?
JS: I’m listening to the new somber song „Homewrecker“ on repeat.
L’O: Your podcast Therapuss, has had some absolutely insane guests. Is there an interview that stands out to you the most?
JS: Always the Role Model episode.
L’O: You are set to take part in the film Wishful Thinking. Was acting always the plan? This is a comedy, but are there any other genres in which you hope to take part in?
JS: Acting was always part of the plan. It’s my dream. Of course, I would like to participate in every genre if I have the chance, but I think I would shine most in comedy.
L’O: 2026 is a huge year for you; a Broadway debut is in the works. You are set to join the All Out Broadway show on February 17th. Is this your first foray into theater? How are you finding theater to be different from your film or your Hulu series? Do you have a favorite of the 3 (Broadway, film, tv)?
JS: This is not my first theater experience. I actually was in my school play in 6th, 8th, and 12th grade, but I was always a theater kid at heart. I went to a lot of theater with my mom when I was a kid, so I feel very honored to be a part of it. Is incredibly different than my Hulu series. It is a much, much quicker turnaround, and I don’t know if I have a favorite of the three. I think they’re all different and amazing in their own way, and I feel lucky to do all three of them one of the same.
