Over the course of her years in the spotlight, actress Jodie Turner-Smith has collected accolades for her striking on-screen presence, garnered plenty of critical praise honoring her dedication to dramatic roles, and participated in some of the industry’s most beloved films and TV shows, but as any devotee knows, she’s also cultivated one of the most envied wardrobes in the game—after all, as a fashion fan herself, she knows style, inside and out.

From buzzy red carpet affairs to casual cosmopolitan outings, when Turner-Smith steps out, she does it with an unmistakable grace and sophistication. Luckily for the fashion scene, the actress has brought her signature sartorial flair to fashion week in recent years, and this season is no different. One of her highlights this week? A front-row seat at Calvin Klein Collection’s highly anticipated runway show.

„I have so many Calvin Klein staples,“ Turner-Smith tells L’OFFICIEL. „I’m loving what Veronica [Leoni] is doing at the brand,“ she adds.

For the buzzy affair, Turner-Smith opted for an ultra-chic gold-and-black look, characterized by soft drapery, silky textures, and pared-back glamour—inspired both by her own sartorial persuasions, as well as New York’s emblematic style.

Ahead of the Calvin Klein Collection Fall/Winter 2026 presentation, Turner-Smith took a beat and sat down with L’OFFICIEL to talk her fashion week do’s and don’ts, style signatures, and penchant for unique looks.

L’OFFICIEL: How did you decide on your look for the show? Were there any styles/pieces that you knew you really wanted to wear?
JODIE TURNER-SMITH: I tend to gravitate towards impactful pieces that embody the spirit of the show I am attending. There are always a few things I gravitate toward: strong tailoring, something with shape, or a piece that feels a little unexpected. I love when an outfit has one element that makes people look twice — whether that’s the silhouette, the color, or a special detail.

L’O: How does your personal style fit into the world of Calvin Klein’s aesthetics and sartorial codes?
JTS: Calvin Klein has always been about minimalism with clean lines, strong silhouettes and an unexpected color palette. It’s all about not trying too hard. I feel like that’s very aligned with how I approach style. Even when I’m wearing something dramatic, I don’t like it to feel overpowering. I like structure and clarity. I love a look that feels intentional.

L’O: What’s your favorite part of getting ready to attend runway shows?
JTS: I love the process & collaboration that takes place. I am so lucky to be able to work with some of the most talented people, from the nail artist all the way to my stylist, collaborating with artists is such a pleasure for me. The transformation that they are able to help me achieve makes me feel empowered.
L’O: What’s your favorite part of being in New York for fashion week?
JTS: The chaos is inevitable when attending fashion week, however I have come to love it. Every time I have made an appearance during fashion week its been a race against time, but the end result is always worth it.
L’O: Are there any particular aesthetics or trends you’re loving (or hating) at the moment? What are you looking forward to seeing from the fashion world in the upcoming seasons?
JTS: I really like how everyone seems to be emphasizing individuality in the way they dress nowadays. I am very inspired by people living their truth and reflecting that on their fashion.

L’O: Every icon has a signature. What’s yours—the non-negotiable detail, habit, or mindset that always feels unmistakably you?

JTS: I think my non-negotiable is intention. If I’m doing something or wearing something, saying yes to something, walking into a room — it has to feel deliberate. I don’t really do autopilot. Even when it looks effortless, there’s thought behind it.

L’O: Does getting ready for fashion shows feel like getting ready for movie premieres, or other film events? In what ways are the processes similar or different?

JTS: I think that the main difference between the two scenarios is that when you are getting ready for a fashion show you try and think about the brand and how to fit into that world, as opposed to when I am getting ready for a movie premiere where my mentality is in a different place.

L’O: If any of the characters you’ve played throughout your career wore this look, who would it be?

JTS: Queen comes to mind, maybe.

L’O: As a creative yourself, how does the artistry and design of the fashion world resonate with you?

JTS: I love the fashion world and anything to do with expressing yourself and feeling free. I am very inspired by the work of so many creatives within the fashion space.

L’O: Finally, where’s your go-to unwind spot after a hectic fashion week—spa, salon, coffee shop, bakery, or somewhere else?

JTS: I like being home ideally, resting, however now that you mention it the spa does not sound bad either, haha.
