Continuing its long legacy of celebrating creativity, Montblanc turns toward Henri Matisse as its latest muse. As part of the coveted Masters of Art line, the label introduces its latest chapter, which draws on the artist’s most enduring visual codes and distills them into new forms.
The collection, created in partnership with Maison Matisse, embodies the artist’s legacy in each and every design aspect. The sculptural, dynamic silhouettes of each writing instrument references Matisse’s famous sculptures, while the clip alludes to his 1953 work, „The Sheaf.“
In five distinct pen styles, Matisse’s distinct archive comes to life. Each writing instrument draws on the artist’s extensive body of work, his many inspirations, and his unique style. Inspired by works including „Blue Nude III“ (1952), „The Romanian Blouse“ (1940), „Window in Tahiti“ „Large Face (Mask)“ (1952), and „Purple Robe and Anemones“ (1937), among others, these models incorporate Montblanc’s signature, luxe craftsmanship and Matisse’s visionary design sensibilities.
In addition to the finely crafted writing instruments, the collection also features a notebook, with its „Blue Nude III“ (1952) inspired design, and an ink set complete with three colors, so each and every note, reminder, or entry recalls Matisse’s vibrant body of work.
