Though it may not yet be fall—temperatures pushing 80 degrees make that much clear—it’s finally wraps for our favorite warm-weather show. After three wildly successful seasons, plenty of viral moments, and major drama, The Summer I Turned Pretty has ended.
In case you missed it, the penultimate episode was a true slice of life experience, with insights into each and every character’s day-to-day lives following the disastrous wedding—which haunts the plot months after it occurred. Belly decides to stay in Paris, where she’s finishing her degree online, working in a bar, and getting cozier with Benito, one of her new friends. Meanwhile, back in Cousins, Jeremiah was unceremoniously kicked off of Steven’s couch, leading him to go seek solace in Denise, who becomes his new roommate—and a close friend. Taylor and Steven’s relationship progresses, and Steven finally quits his job with Adam. Conrad comes home for Christmas and spends the holidays with Laurel, John, Adam, and Steven, but had a reckoning with Jeremiah at his mother’s grave site. Finally, viewers discover that Conrad has been sending Belly letters the entirety of her Parisian stay, and plans to go visit her—under the pretense of being in Brussels for a medical conference.
With all of that out of the way, catch up on the finale of the beloved series with a full The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 11 recap.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Ending
The first scene sees Conrad’s arrival in Paris, where his first stop is none other than Belly’s apartment. Cut to Belly, who now has a very chic, classically Parisian bob—cue the sighs of relief from fans online who were certain a French hairdresser was going to mess up our protagonist’s long locks. The two chat—awkwardly—and Belly decides to give Conrad a tour of the city. Suffice to say, the tour ends up jam packed with romantic tension—shocking, we know—as the two become comfortable with each other again. Eventually, Belly takes Conrad up to a rooftop, and tells him a bit about her experience in the city, and why it was important for her to go. Following this heart-to-heart, she invites him to her birthday dinner with friends.
In Cousins/Philly/Boston, Jeremiah is flexing his cooking skills with a dinner for dozens of influential figures in the food community, and is being lauded online as the hottest young chef in Boston—thanks to a viral Tiktok Taylor posted. Jeremiah is stressed out, and plenty of obstacles come up, leaving him plenty to work through on the day of the dinner. He also tells Denise he knows Conrad and Belly are together, and he’s okay with it. In return, Denise shares some news of her own: she’s moving to San Francisco with Steven to seriously pursue development for their video game. Unfortunately, Taylor overheard Denise’s news—which Steven has neglected to share with her at that point.
Belly and Conrad go to her birthday dinner—attended by all of her Parisian friends—and our protagonist finally says what fans have been thinking all summer long: “If anyone was the villain, it was me.” Conrad is quick to let her know that he doesn’t share the sentiment, and gifts her a vial of sand, straight from Cousins Beach.
The two walked through the streets of Paris, slow danced under the street lamp, and unpacked some of their past fights. Belly tells Conrad she read all of his letters, which helped her persevere through some of the tougher parts of living abroad.
As we all saw coming—hello, romantic tension—the pair finally kissed and went back to Belly’s apartment. The next morning, Belly starts to get cold feet, and asks Conrad if their relationship and feelings are real, or if he only loves her because Susannah wanted him to, leading to a dramatic romantic confession from Conrad.
Shortly after he left, Belly realizes that though she has made mistakes, she still believes she’s worthy of love, prompting her to book it to the train station after Conrad—as Taylor Swift’s „Out Of The Woods“ plays, of course—and an out-of-breath Belly finds a seat next to Conrad on the train. A mutual confessin ensues this time, and they exchange a kiss and a long-awaited ‚I love you.‘
Steven and Taylor talked through their scuffle, and promised to stay together, and Denise and Jeremiah kissed. A series of snapshots showed Belly and Conrad living life together in Paris, and for the last time, the screen went dark.
