From a young age, Scarlett Johansson always had an interest in acting. As a child, she had her first introduction to the camera through commercial auditions, and as she got older, she continued to nurture her craft. The multifaceted actress got her first big gig acting in the off-Broadway production Sophistry. She eventually made her movie debut in the 1994 film North, but the breakout role that truly began her rise to stardom came from her portrayal as Amanda in the 1996 film Manny & Lo. It was from there that she became the recognizable star she is still known as today.
She continued to give standout performances in movies such as Ghost World, Lost In Translation, Girl With A Pearl Earring, The Island, He’s Just Not That Into You, and We Bought A Zoo. Perhaps one of her most notable acting roles is Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, in the iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her incredible performance as Black Widow landed her multiple nominations across various awards, including Teen Choice, People’s Choice, MTV Awards, and Critics‘ Choice Awards. Beyond Marvel, Johansson has been nominated for numerous awards, including two Academy Awards, both in 2020, for her roles in Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit. Currently, the actress is still very much working and was most recently in Jurassic World Rebirth.
